Overview
We’re excited to announce significant improvements to the Personnel Overview in the Planner app that will give you better control and visibility over your workforce management. These enhancements focus on providing more comprehensive filtering options and improved user experience when navigating personnel timelines.
New Features
Enhanced Personnel Filtering: “Include All Personnel” Option
We’ve added a powerful new filtering control that gives you complete visibility over your workforce. The new “Include All Personnel” option allows you to:
- View ALL active employees regardless of their availability or scheduling status
- Include personnel who are fully booked or scheduled during the filtered period
- See personnel without current position assignments or defined schedules
- Display personnel marked as unavailable or not yet assigned to activities
By default, the system shows only personnel with some availability (unassigned days) during the selected period. This new option ensures you never miss anyone in your workforce analysis, providing complete organizational oversight when needed.
Improved Timeline Navigation: Name Column Freeze
Navigating long personnel timelines just got easier with our new column freeze functionality. The personnel name column now remains fixed while you scroll horizontally through the timeline, allowing you to:
- Always know which person you’re viewing, even when scrolling through extended date ranges
- Maintain context while analyzing personnel schedules and activities
- Improve productivity when reviewing complex workforce planning scenarios
This enhancement significantly improves the user experience, especially when working with large teams or extended planning periods.
Impact
These improvements provide workforce managers with better tools for comprehensive personnel oversight and more intuitive navigation, making it easier to manage both current workforce assignments and identify available resources for future planning.
All existing functionality remains unchanged, and these new features are immediately available to all users with access to the Planner app.
